By any measure, increasing your capital equipment’s output is key to maximising profits. The 6 pallet upgrade, now available as an option on RoboMate loaders for MX and TX grinders, is a simple and low-cost enhancement that will greatly extend the grinders’ capacityfor unattended production.
For most customers, the widely used 4 pallet configuration offered on RoboMate was considered adequate for their needs. However, some users expressed a need for greater capacity to suit their specific production requirements, including “As my tool cycle time is relatively short, the loader batch often finishes in the middle of the night. That means the machine sits idle until I return in the morning”, or “I need extra pallet stations so I can run different jobs within a single setup, rather than stop the machine to re-tool”.
Having received this feedback, ANCA’s Custom Solutions team set about addressing the request. As is often the case, simple solutions are the best. By simply adding an extra pallet station on either side of the RoboMate loader, customers can gain up to 50% additional capacity in their loader.
ANCA grinders already have several options on offer that work to ensure stable and reliable production when running unattended. This includes LaserUltra for in-process tool measurement and compensation, automatic whitestick for in-process wheel conditioning and up to 6 grinding wheel packs, allowing storage of spare wheels when one set gets worn out. The extra two pallets in the 6 pallet upgrade is yet another feature that will deliver greater utilisation of your valuable capital equipment.
The 6 pallet upgrade can be offered on new machines as well as being retrofittable on existing RoboMate loaders. Because it uses the same robot workhead, the only change is to the pallet stations, making it an extremely simple upgrade. The top tier pallets can load tools up to 330mm (13”) long, while the two lower tiers are limited to 200mm maximum tool length.
