FPT, a global IT services and technology company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with ATEC, a Japanese automotive software firm with over 36 years of experience, to form a strategic partnership. The collaboration aims to drive innovation in the automotive industry by jointly developing next-generation software solutions that support safer, smarter, and more connected mobility. Together, FPT and ATEC will contribute to the sustainable advancement of Japan’s automotive technology ecosystem.
The partnership aims to tackle key industry challenges such as the growing demand for automotive software and the shortage of senior-level talent in embedded systems. By leveraging their combined technological strengths, development frameworks, and skilled teams, FPT and ATEC will offer high-quality, end-to-end solutions—especially in the areas of AUTOSAR and Software-Defined Vehicle services—for leading Japanese automotive OEMs. As part of this collaboration, the two companies will establish a new Offshore Development Center in Ho Chi Minh City, with plans for future expansion.
This partnership marks ATEC’s first international collaboration, initiated to address the growing shortage of skilled resources and scale up its development capabilities. For FPT, the alliance provides strategic access to ATEC’s customer base, further strengthening its footprint and competitiveness in Japan’s evolving automotive sector.
Do Van Khac, FPT Software SEVP and FPT Japan CEO, FPT Corporation, said, ““Automotive stands as a critical industry in Japan, with increasing AI-driven automotive systems. By combining FPT’s global expertise in automotive technology and our AI-enabled solutions with ATEC’s deep domain knowledge, we are confident that this partnership can open up exciting opportunities for both sides in Japan’s dynamic automotive sector.”
