Tata Motors, India’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Green Energy Mobility Solutions Pvt. Ltd. (GEMS), the electric mobility subsidiary promoted by Universal Bus Services (UBS), to supply 100 Magna EV intercity coaches.

The agreement was formalized at Passenger Vehicle Expo 2.0 in Chennai, where Tata Motors is exhibiting its latest commercial passenger mobility offerings, including the all-electric Magna EV and the LPO 1822 — both designed for high performance, enhanced passenger comfort, and optimal total cost of ownership.

Universal Bus Services (UBS), a leading premium intercity travel brand in South India, is recognized for its innovation, reliability, and customer-focused services. Its newly formed EV arm, Green Energy Mobility Solutions (GEMS), is leading UBS’s shift toward sustainable mobility by deploying advanced electric buses and supporting charging infrastructure.

The MoU between Tata Motors and GEMS was signed in the presence of Dr. T.R.B. Rajaa, Hon’ble Minister for Industries, Government of Tamil Nadu, along with delegates from the state government and members of the All Omni Bus Owners Association (AOBOA).

Dr. T.R.B. Rajaa, Hon’ble Minister for Industries, Government of Tamil Nadu, said, “Tamil Nadu continues to lead the way in automotive and clean mobility innovation.
