Setco Automotive Limited has announced that’s its subsidiary Setco Auto Systems Pvt. Ltd. has entered into a strategic collaboration with Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur to drive joint research and innovation in the field of automotive technology. This partnership marks a significant milestone in fostering industry academia synergy, paving the way for cutting edge advancements in mobility solutions.

VNIT Nagpur, originally established in 1960 as Visvesvaraya Regional College of Engineering (VRCE) and later declared an ‘Institute of National Importance’ in 2002, is recognized as one of India’s premier institutes for engineering, architecture, and science. With a strong emphasis on research and innovation, VNIT has nurtured generations of technologists and innovators.

Key focus areas of the MoU:

· Undertake collaborative research projects focusing on next generation automotive systems, including drivetrains, friction facing technology, electric mobility, and sustainable vehicle solutions.

·  Establish a dedicated Clutch Research Laboratory in the Mechanical Engineering Department at VNIT, where Setco and VNIT will jointly work on innovative technologies, new product development, and advanced testing methods.

· Drive innovation in existing clutch systems to significantly improve the performance, durability, and life of products.

·  Provide VNIT students with hands on exposure through live industry projects, access to advanced testing facilities, internships, and mentorship from Setco’s R&D experts.
