JSW Motors, the newly formed automotive arm of the JSW Group, has entered into a partnership with KPIT Technologies to tap into the IT firm’s strong capabilities in automotive software systems.

This collaboration comes as JSW Motors plans to invest $3 billion over the next five years to design and produce electric, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid vehicles in India. The company aims to launch its first New Energy Vehicle (NEV) on Indian roads in the second half of FY 2025-26.

JSW Motors, which is developing a 630-acre automotive hub in Bidkin, Maharashtra, has announced plans to deliver high-performance, sustainable vehicles to Indian consumers.

The collaboration with KPIT Technologies is set to leverage KPIT’s extensive experience in software and systems development, built over two decades and more than 2000 global vehicle production programs, including several Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) initiatives.

According to the two companies, the partnership highlights KPIT’s strategic focus on the Indian market and, together with JSW, aims to deliver superior customer experiences while accelerating India’s shift towards clean mobility.

Announcing this today, Kishor Patil, CEO & MD of KPIT Technologies, said: “KPIT is proud to partner with JSW Motors in their ambitious journey to transform India’s automotive landscape. Our experience across global vehicle programs and SDV positions us uniquely to contribute to JSW’s vision.”

He further pointed out that this partnership with JSW Motors reflects both the companies’ strategic focus on the Indian market and the need to deliver state-of-the-art technology to better customer experience and also works toward clean mobility.

“The partnership will include KPIT bringing advanced competencies in electric propulsion systems, battery innovation, and SDV architectures that enables continuous feature upgrades and superior consumer experiences,” Patil said.

Ranjan Nayak, CEO of JSW Motors, talking about the partnership, said that the automotive company would integrate KPIT’s software and systems development into its ecosystem.

“Together, we aim to energize the Indian auto ecosystem and set new benchmarks for innovation and customer satisfaction. Leveraging its global best practices and technical capabilities, KPIT will set-up a dedicated centre of excellence for JSW Motors,” he said.
