In a significant step toward strengthening its position in the global semiconductor ecosystem, Telangana has secured collaboration with Malaysia-based Spring Semiconductors and T-Consult to skill 10,000 youth in semiconductor design and manufacturing by 2030.

The announcement came after a series of meetings held by Telangana’s IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu with representatives from both organizations. The minister also revealed that UK-headquartered semiconductor giant ARM Holdings has shown a keen interest in investing in the state, further adding momentum to Telangana’s growing prominence in the high-tech sector.

Spring Semiconductors CEO Ken Ku shared that a comprehensive training programme is being planned, which will combine six months of intensive coursework in Telangana with hands-on international internships in leading semiconductor hubs such as Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan. The initiative will be executed in collaboration with T-Consult and aims to equip local youth with the skills required for high-end semiconductor roles.

Minister Sridhar Babu emphasized the importance of such collaborations, citing the global demand for semiconductor talent and the need to align local skill development with emerging industry trends. He highlighted that the state’s upcoming Young India Skills University will serve as a key platform to nurture industry-ready talent.

Describing the youth of Telangana as a powerful resource, the minister remarked that with the right mentorship and opportunities, they can contribute meaningfully to the global semiconductor supply chain.

In addition to leaders from Spring Semiconductors and T-Consult, the discussions were attended by World Telugu IT Council’s Malaysia chapter president Maruthi and other dignitaries. The minister also assured that the state government is ready to offer full support to facilitate ARM Holdings’ potential entry and expansion in Telangana.
