VinFast is preparing to enter India’s electric two-wheeler market in 2026 and is currently conducting feasibility studies to assess product fit and market requirements, a senior company executive confirmed. Over time, the company also plans to introduce its GSM ride-hailing service and electric buses, for which discussions with several state governments are already underway.

The automaker has a portfolio of at least six electric scooters with varying battery capacities and ranges. It is expected to begin its India operations by launching two models, entering a segment currently dominated by established players like Bajaj and TVS, alongside emerging brands such as Ather and Ola Electric.

“We are working with partners to understand the Indian market before launch. A feasibility study is ongoing, and our dealer network has shown strong interest in two-wheelers,” said Pham Sanh Chau, CEO of VinFast Asia.

VinFast is also evaluating its entry into India’s electric bus market. While the electric scooters are planned for local manufacturing, the buses may initially be imported through CKD or CBU routes.
